in the hood.
how sketchy does this photo look? the elements of graffiti that fascinates me is the the most is the meaning and why they chose certain locations to draw on. graffiti, as a whole, is not very legible. yet, all graffiti type looks the same? but they are all different? it confuses me. i think the bubble letters is what makes graffiti what it is. they really use line as an important element to make their logo or what not. though this is a pretty plain example, i think its a good basis of the well known look of graffiti.

This graffiti is very simplistic but the basic outlines of the letters themselves are artistic and have a very cool look to them. Although it does look unfinished. Maybe they got caught while they were doing it.
haha ya maybe the artist got caught! That would make a good story to explain this graffiti art. It's cool to see the stages of graffiti art and how this artist obviously started with a white outline. I wonder if they are ever going to go back and fill in the letters with color, or if they wanted to leave this work sketchy.
Yes, it is simple, but effective and gets the point across. Sure, the letters were not filled in with bright colors, but the simple contour outline around the bricks really creates an interesting effect.
That's interesting that you all think that this graffiti wasn't finished (they definitely could have been caught in the act!), but perhaps the artist meant to keep it simple. I admire the curvilinear shapes and lines; every letter appears to have been made effortlessly. Although I like the intense color and detail in most graffiti, this simple one has a flowing effect that I admire.
