influences from late 70's Early 80's Ad Layout

This ad had strong influences from late 70's early 80's ad layouts. Factors of this are a large image on the left or right with large san serif type opposite the image (eating up the majority of the white space). It is a very bold ad that captures perfectly the ads from that era in time.

I also think the way the effects of the picture and the women's style are that of the 70's and 80's. they are probably trying to refer their product to a simpler time by taking on the style of a more old fashioned time period

i agree that this has an 80's-ish influence...the bold typeface is "modern" for the time period and the hair and makeup of the model bring the whole 80's feel together.

I agree that the layout and bold type channel the 80's time period. Also, the heavy blush on the woman's face remind me of that time, as well as the clothing.

This reminds me of the movie Helvetica, when a man was talking about how ads started to become like what this one is. Somewhat plain and simple. Straight and to the point. Not busy. Its good. Very 80s.
