mmm water!
Dasani does a great job not only with design but also typography. The S softly resembles the ripples of water, as do the As. While these are very simple elements they do an effective job using the letters in the brand. The design is also very well planned out because it takes the color of blue, which resembles water, but also is a little transparent so you can see the purity of their water.

I also like this label for Dasani; I see it quite a bit at the skating rinks around here (they like to advertise on the boards around the ice), and it never fails to relax me. The typeface has a nice sense of flow, especially because of the wave-like quality of the s and the strokes from the a. I think any water company should have a relaxing, calming feel to it like this one because that's what water implies: relaxation, purification, cleansing...
I can definitely spot Dasani when walking through a store. You hit the nail on the head when describing how the letterforms give you a feeling of rippling, pure water. Also, another neat feature is that Dasani's bottle is different from other plastic water bottles. It has a distinct shape that has many ripples and dips in the plastic's surface.
While we astablished today in class that we should not be drinking Dasani, I still agree that the design is very nice. There is a free flow to it that mirrors the feel of water. Also with the color there is a crisp cool look that is very inviting.
i think dasani is my favorite water just because of the packaging. i never realized the mimic of the ripples of water in the type, but it is not to over the top and very nice. the over all design is soothing and relaxing.
I like how simple their packaging is. I think that the use of blues is a good choice because that is the color we naturally associate with water. Also the packaging and text is clean and simple, just like how water should be.
I like the dasani design also. I feel like all of the other water brands almost try to over do their designs and that makes dasani stand out for its simplicity and refreshing look.
The blue background is definately a good decision because is conveys cool and water. The S is typographically interesting and I can somewhat see the ripple for the water even though it is very subtle. I think if the ripple was overpowering it would take away from the title.
