Waffle House or the gross german restaurant Affle Hous

I love looking at signs that have letters out, and read in different ways. It's always unexpected if they make different words that are in contradiction to what the place is. This design is really clever in highlighting things that would not be good for business owners.

These are really good -- wish I'd thought of it!

I think that is a clever idea to have certain letters blacked out in words to form new ones. But, I have to say that I have never really seen any signs with missing letters that say something different. You should probably make a sign that spells out the name of the place with intentional blacked out letters. Just to play with the public's mind.

This is really humorous. I like that it is not too obvious. That ads to the interest and keeps you looking at the design. It is a bit over done. Possibly less could have been more in this situation.

I didn't look closely enough at first when I saw this.. but a second look is always good. I agree with Kazoo... definitely not too obvious. It's always funny to drive by at night and see certain signs that are blacked out... I haven't really caught anything too humorous yet.. but this example definitely defines what a company should not want to say if their sign is out. I guess those companies should probably be more careful in their typography and color selections.

very clever design. these signs with the lights out always seem to create the most scandalous sayings (of course they never say something nice). But what I like about this paritcular shirt is the way everything was positioned into the set dimensions so well and that it doesn't just rely on they signs to do all the work but rather it's fun and they all seem to play off eachother, or you get the idea that this is some kind of town for all the faulty signs. Very fun.

These are pretty fun! It's funny because I hate it when signs are like this on the side of the road because you can't read them! But here they are used in an effective way!
