Type from the sole

What a cool idea!!! Putting a small sentence of body copy on the bottom of a shoe for an ad. I love how well this idea relates with the purpose of the ad, Race for the Cure, a marathon to help raise money to fight breast cancer. I also enjoy how well they made the indentions on the sole look like a real shoe, they didn't just place the text horizontally on the shoe, they took the time to show the patterns different patters and creases and that highlight the points of their message quite well.

I agree...this is such a great way to advertise!! With this design, you would literally leave a mark on society; you would not only see people with these shoes but you would notice the mark of design left on streets, floors, etc! I like the actual design as well; the diagonal placement of type complements the shoe's dynamic quality, as does the emphasis on the words "oblivion", "breast cancer" and "every step". I'm impressed!!

Good one, Polly! I really like this in contrast with the normal treads everyone else's shoes have.

i think this is a very creative approach for race for the cure...its also kind of a play on words. we need the soles of our shoes in order to complete the race, but we also need soul to help fight the battle against breast cancer.

ok that was a bit on the cheese side.

the subtlety draws you in and i think that is the most effective part of the whole design. its unexpected.

I think that this is a very unique and cool way to advertise for race for the cure. I mean you have to wear shoes to do it so why not put it on the bottom of one. Also, I know that I personally don't typically look at the bottom of shoes for type, but seeing this really makes me look around to see what other examples I can find.

Oh wow.. this really is neat... what a different approach of advertising something for a great cause. I could definitely see how this was an unexpected example of type... people don't really look at the bottom of their shoes on a regular basis... let alone use it readily for advertising. This ad would definitely draw people in bc it's unexpected.

I also agree I like the placement of this type. After I saw this I looked at all my shoes to see if I had a cool type on the bottom
