i dont have faith in this design, thats for sure.

my sister got this bag from a jewelry show she went to at some persons house. i get that they are trying to be cute-sy and what not but WAAAAY too much is going on here. first of all, they have a busy design on the paper. second, they used a graphic, curly type face and third, the main, emphasized type "faith" has equally distracting serifs. what they should of done was use the colors they have (possibly a bolder pink that is more legible.) and the package they have but make the type simple and more elegant. a sans serif type in bold would work much better for faith. they could add a different color stroke to add emphasis or a drop shadow to make it look more professional.

what's with the p.e.r.i.o.d.s. between all the letters? Maybe it's an acronym, but I find it silly. There are too many letters in the word Faith to have periods after each.

I agree that there is way too much going on here. My eye doesn't know where to go. I think that they could have just done a simple font instead of all of the curly font to help simplify it because I think that if they are going to use that busy pattern for the bag the type needs to be simple for legibility and contrast.

So basically, nothing is working together in this design. We've got some curly type going on, with some bold serif capitalized type, and huge periods( that have no purpose between each of the letters). I wonder if we asked the designer "why did you make the choices you did?" they wouldn't know what to say.

I agree, "faith" doesn't come to mind in this design! I like the typefaces they chose (I actually used the curly one in a girly project as well), but I don't think they were used properly in this design. The designers should have used only typefaces that provided enough contrast and allowed legibility (Iike a san-serif and a script). The curly typeface is distracting and illegible because it is used too much in the design. I agree with Rolf; the periods don't work either! They also decrease legibility and there is no purpose for them.

I agree.. what is with the periods?? does faith stand for something else that we don't know about? Also, the pink is very distracting with the busy pattern behind it. This bag makes me not want to take this company very serious at all. It might have been nice if they kept the background because it is classy.. and then done a silver or black sans serif or elegant looking font.

well they may have had the best intentions but it's another case of someone going too far and not knowing when to say no to one more detail. really if they got rid of that curlz font and simplified it with the same typeface as the word 'faith.' I'd love to see it again like that. and I think you have a good point that the pink should be a different shade.

Ah. Yuck. This is not cute, the curly font is something I used to play around with when I was in like middle school. A designer should not be using that for packaging...

okay all i have to say is curls is like one of my least favorite fonts EVER and it definately doesnt fit with this. There is way too much going on.
