type vs pictures

this was an interesting design for a spread out , it seems though that the images are really overwhelming the space. the text is really compact but it works well at the same time. im kinda divided by how i feel i think it works rally well for this spread out bu tmostly cus all connects with the way they displayed their pictures . also a feature that connects the piece together is the headline type that has that cubical or geometrical quality of the shapes surrounding. the text is well placed and compact , good choice of size in my opnion and still legible. it would have been interesting to see if they could have had type instead of shapes. also really nice aproach of making it look upside down, it got me confused for a wile, its not very conventional.

Yeah, I'm not sure if this layout really makes me want to read the text. When I first looked at it, I thought, "WOW, how cool, the illustrations of the guys are upside down and there are cool colored shapes all around." As I kept looking at the layout, all I did was analyze the image and not the type, which is probably not a good thing for a writer.

i feel as though the images should interact more with the body copy in order to make the whole layout work. over lapping or adjustments to the body copy is a easy solution.

I think it would of been better if they didnt have both guys upside down. It would be intresting to see them coming from oppiste directions so the text would be broken up. Not all at the bottom in a chunk

I think it is an interesting idea to have the images turned upside down. It really grabs the viewers attention, but that's all that I want to look at. Although, I did notice that the rag on the copy was nice.

I like the way the pics are turned upside down as well. A different approach we wouldn't normally think of. However, the pics are so cool itself, that the background doesn't need to be there. It's too busy and takes away from the neutral color palette.

I agree with little cody, the images need to work more as one unit. I think that the decision to turn the guys images upside down was successful, but at they same time, they are overpowering.

Even though the images are a bit overwhelming, I think the angle of the men's heads (the way they are pointing downward) helps lead your eyes to the start of the body type. However, the arrows are pointing awkwardly upward, so there is less emphasis on the body type that way. The meaning behind the arrows seems a bit ambiguous, so I would like to see them made less prominent in hierarchy. Their bright colors are too distracting!
