K ernth is, Mo fo

This was the title page from an editorial spread. The spread was all about type and this gave an awesome visual representation of what goes on in during kerning. I thought it was a great/funny concept , and was executed very nicely to get the idea across.

This is so neat in how it uses construction and machines to show the process of kerning! I like how the type is so large and the people are so small. It emphasizes how much detailing goes into the process of kerning!

first off, nice title you have there. We should take that idea and make our own shirts.
What I love about this piece is this extreme industrial feel that we get. It creates this idea of what a process kerning is. Using the deep red for the words not only helps it stand out but gives this emergency to it but since it's not a fire engine red instead it's a deep cranberry red it blends well with this industrial look. very nice layout and extremely interesting.

I like that this piece has such an industrial feel to it. Having the actual type stand out more than the mechanical elements also shows that most people do not see a problem with type. But, we know what really goes on behind the scenes and that type can be a tricky little thing sometimes.

That is a really cool take on the meaning. I like how they made it look mechanical and took a literal approach.

What a different idea this is to illustrate how important kerning is. If people didn't take a typography class and saw that spread, probably wouldn't have a clue what it means... but then they would understand because the concept is illustrated so well. I also like the use of scale--the smallness of the people and the large letters.
