John Deere on the Move

I saw this ad a few years ago and really liked the typography usage on the side of it. I just thought it was very inventive use of typography for a construction equipment company. It definitely adds a flair to this ad--fading from left to right. The only thing I don't like about this ad is the busy background. I wouldn't have noticed it at first, but it makes it a bit tough to read the copy. It also takes away from the funky type on the side.

I agree that the black body copy is extremely too hard to read (there's too much of a contrast in weight and a lot of ink in such a small amount of space). However, I like how John Deer is repeated but not in an obnoxious way. The yellow color of the repeated words blend in with the illustration, but the white works well because it shows a contrast that leads your eye to this type first.

I really like the baseline shift and the contrast between the vertically aligned type and the horizontally aligned type. However, the background is too busy. It needs to be scaled back, or the opacity needs to be lowered in order for the typography to be more prominent.
